Pharmtech & Ingredients 2019 opens to the pharmaceutical industry

The 21st edition of Pharmtech & Ingredients is now open!

470 companies are presenting their equipment, raw materials and technologies for pharmaceutical production this year, include 100 new exhibitors.

This edition will also see national stands from Germany, Switzerland, India, and China (which has doubled the number of its sub-exhibitors).

At the event’s opening ceremony, Victor Dmitriev, Director General of the Association of Russian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (ARPP), called the consolidation of the market’s yearly results at Pharmtech & Ingredients a good tradition. According to him, the show is “not only an exhibition of achievements, but also the most important exhibition of future prospects for the industry.”

Deputy General Director of the Agency for Technological Development ANO, Vadim Kulikov announced the opening of a new programme to encourage acquiring technologies for Russian businesses from outside the domestic market. “Our main task is to ensure comfortable conditions for transferring technology in Russia,” Mr Kulikov noted.

Binaya Srikant Pradhan, Deputy Head of the Mission of the Embassy of India in Russia, said: “The pharmaceutical industry is one of the most important for us, and today I am pleased to present our delegation of 27 members at Pharmtech & Ingredients. We export $500 million worth of pharmaceutical products to Russia annually.”

With the ribbon cut and the exhibition open, business and networking began.

Kicking off the business programme of events was the round table discussion on preparing companies for the new medicine labelling rules coming into force in Russia on 1 January 2020 – something that’s pressing for all companies involved in the Russian pharmaceutical market.

Later in the day a key session was dedicated to the export potential of pharmaceutical products and new growth points in this area. The event included case studies of entering new international markets from Russian and international companies.

Still to come over the next few days are events on topics such as technical support for medicine production, API production, boosting productivity and much more.
